House rules

The keys of the front and back door can be removed from the lockbox with the code provided via the rental site or by direct contact with us. The loclbox hangs at the back of the column near the front door. Smoking is not allowed indoors. Pets are only allowed after consultation. We request that you do not flush any chemicals through the sinks or showerdrain. This water is discharged into the garden underground and goes to the plants. Giving parties or organizing events is not allowed. Your stay is located in a quiet residential area and we ask you to respect the quiet environment and not cause any noise pollution for the neighbors between 10.30 pm and 7.00 am. The small room is a private room and is used as a storage room. We ask you not to enter the room. The house is equipped with two Arlo surveillance cameras. The cameras are switched off immediately after check-in. You will receive the data from the Arlo account via e-mail or whatsapp to turn the cameras on and off again if desired. You can also delete recorded images via that account. There is a third camera in the garden for maintenance purposes (with a privacy cover). This camera does not record images and will be turned off during your stay. There is an internet connection available. Unfortunately, the internet in Aruba is not as reliable as in Europe or America, although this also improves every year. Occasionally the connection is slow or interrupted. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done about this. Two WiFi networks can be used, a 2.4 GHz network for older WiFi devices: BlueHamlet-fare or the 5 GHz network: Bluehamlet. The passwords will be sent to you via the rental site.

The bedroom is air-conditioned. We ask you to close the windows and doors if the air conditioning is in use. The remote control of the air conditioning hangs in the bedroom at the switch of the light (bottom switch) and the ventilation (top switch). The ventilation can be used to cool the living room via the air conditioning in the bedroom. The ventilation system provides an air circulation between the living room and the bedroom. When using the air conditioning and ventilation, please close all external doors and windows of the house closed.. We recommend a temperature setting of the air conditioning from 24˚ to 27˚, so that the difference with the outside temperature is as small as possible. Oat At night the outside temperature is between 26˚ and 28˚, but due to the high humidity it feels, with the absence of wind, much warmer. Because the air conditioning dehumidifies the air, it feels much cooler at a temperature of 26˚. All windows are sliding windows and can be opened. Because of the intrusion sensitivity, the windows are secured with vertical wooden slats. Remove the wooden slats on the side and slide the window upwards. When leaving the house, please replace the slats. There is a small safe in the left-hand bedroom closet. The code is the same as the key box code followed by the A key. After this, the safe can be opened with the rotary knob.

In the kitchen cupboard under the sink there are cleaning products, pedal bin bags, thermos jugs for tea and coffee, the dishwashing bowl and the timer of the irrigation system. We urge you not to operate the timer. The timer is set so that the plants get water every other day at night. Two plugs are located in the socket on the right of the kitchen unit, just above the floor. One plug is from the timer (orange cord) and the other plug is from the hobs. Only unplug them in the event of a calamity.

 

In the living room there is a small television (32 "smart TV) on which the standard package of digital television from Aruba is available (HDMI port number 1). The remote controls are at the television. The television is connected to the internet, so you can use digital streaming services such as Netflix. On the same cabinet, a mini-PC can be found, on which a number of older films and series can be viewed (DVDs from our private collection). It can be operated with the adjacent trackball. The mini PC is connected to HDMI. A small amplifier is present in the same cabinet. The volume knop is also the power switch. You can connect your device via the mini-jack or via Bluetooth. Please note, if a device (phone or computer) is connected via bluetooth, the mini-jack connection is disabled.

There is a small barbeque in the garden. The barbeque is at a fixed location and has a protective cover. Clean the grilles before use and lubricate with olive oil. After use, rid the gratings of loose residues and lubricate with olive oil. If the barbeque has cooled down, please replace the protective cover.

In the garden there are two sun beds and a table with four chairs in the two shady places. Two hooks are hung on the eaves at the side wall of the bathroom, from which a hammock can be hung. The hammock is in the right-hand wardrobe in the bedroom. If necessary / desired, the suspension points of the shade cloths can be varied because a number of hooks are fitted. In the living room there are two beach chairs and a small cool box that can be used for a day at the beach.

There is still no separation of waste at Artuba. The pedal bin bags can be deposited in the waste container. The container is in the niche at the boundary with the neighbors at number 21 at the front of the house. The container is emptied every Monday.

Clean towels, bath towels and bed linen are in the closets in the bedroom. Clean shower mats are in the bathroom in the cabinet under the sink. Clean kitchen towels, towels and dishcloths are in the upper left kitchen drawer. If there are no more clean towels, bath towels, bed linen and / or shower mats, you must take care of washing during your stay. The laundry Drop and Wash is close by and the laundry can be picked up and brought by the laundry. It is not the cheapest laundry, but nice and in the neighborhood.
